We collect only the data necessary to deliver our service:
- Name, email address, and clinical role
- App usage activity (e.g. episode completion, MCQ progress)
- Device/browser details, crash logs, and analytics
- Cookie data (only for analytics and functionality)
We do not collect or provide transcripts of podcast audio.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Track CPD/CME progress
- Deliver reminders and educational suggestions
- Improve our platform through analytics and crash reporting
- Send optional updates if you opt in
We do not use your data for advertising or resale.
4. Legal Basis
We rely on:
- Contractual necessity to provide your account
- Consent for notifications and optional emails
- Legitimate interest for anonymised analytics and performance improvement
5. Sharing Your Data
We only share data with trusted service providers:
- Firebase / Google Cloud (hosting, analytics)
- Mailchimp (optional newsletter, opt-in only)
- OpenAI (for educational content generation – anonymised only)
Your data is never sold or monetised.

We ensure all service providers outside the UK have adequate safeguards (e.g. SCCs or UK Data Bridge).
7. Use of Podcast Audio
MedPod Learn does not own, modify, or transcribe podcast audio.
Audio is streamed from public RSS feeds and remains the property of the original creators. Educational content is developed around the audio but the audio itself is unaltered.
8. Your Rights
You may:
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the UK ICO (www.ico.org.uk)
9. Cookies
We use minimal cookies for functionality and analytics. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.

We retain user data while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.
